Flat-Packed Parts, Ready to Assemble on Your Floor

When a fully built crate would eat up trailer space or hold up production, Troymill ships CrateKits instead. Each kit arrives as cut-to-size panels, cleats, and fasteners stacked flat, numbered for fast assembly, and matched to the weight and footprint of your product. You get the protection of a custom wood crate without paying to ship empty air.

Why Choose Crate Kits

  • Lower Freight Costs
Flat packs stack tightly, so more units ride on one truck and less dunnage is required.
  • Ten Business Day Production
Standard crate kits ship in about ten business days, with a five-day expedited service available when schedules demand.
  • 24-Hour Quotes & Drawings
Send overall length, width, height, and weight. We return pricing and a dimensioned sketch the next business day.
  • Simplified Inventory
Panels arrive pre-cut, eliminating the need for on-site sawing, large sheet storage, and extensive scrap cleanup.
  • JIT Programs

For recurring builds, we can hold kits in inventory and release them just in time for your line changeover.

Typical Crate Kit Applications

  • Industrial machinery headed to field installations
  • Large glass or composite panels that ship upright
  • Export packaging where on-site assembly eases container loading
  • Trade-show exhibits that need a reusable knock-down case
  • Contract packagers seeking uniform, repeatable crate dimensions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to assemble a crate kit on the floor?

Most two-person crews bolt or screw a standard kit together in 15 to 30 minutes, depending on size and hardware.

Can I specify different panel thicknesses for the same crate?

Yes. Many customers choose 3/4" bases for strength and 1/2" side panels to save weight and cost.

Will I need special tools to assemble the kit?

A cordless drill or impact driver and a wrench for lag bolts cover 95 percent of builds. All hardware is included.

Can crate kits be heat-treated for export?

Heat treatment to ISPM15 is available on request. Let us know at the quote stage, and we will mark the panels accordingly.

What is the maximum size you can ship as a flat-pack kit?

We routinely supply kits up to 240" long and 96" high. Larger footprints can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
